The Threepenny Opera

Threepenny Opera, Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill’s epic opera portraying the shadowy side of 1928 London, upset theatrical conventions with its jazz–influenced score and introduced the popular song, “Mack the Knife.” NUAMPS recorded the School of Music’s production of Threepenny Opera in HD on November 17, 2006 as the second step of an ongoing relationship with the School of Music to record, disseminate, and archive NU’s operatic productions. The opera is directed by Noel Koran, Director of Opera at the School of Music, and is 2 hours and 19 minutes in length.
