The IT Services & Support, Media & Design and Academic Software Development teams, partnered with the MSiA program (Master of Science in Analytics at the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern) to offer guidance and training to the MSiA student cohort on Amazon Web Services, Python & Flask, and HTML/CSS theming.
On the AWS, python and flask section we covered deployment of a python flask application that consumed 3rd party WebServices to AWS Elastic Beanstalk backed by RDS (relational database services), application environmnt configuration, deployment and best practice strategies. On the HTML/CSS section, we covered transforming basic HTML into bootstrap based markup and best practices on theming resoures.
It was a pleasure to work with such a talented group of students in the cohort.
Rodolfo Vieira and Jacob Collins lead the sessions on AWS, python and flask. Alex Miner, Len Brashear, and Nick Gertonson led the sessions on HTML/CSS.
